The Only other Par Level is Standard. As a rule of thumb, you should choose a Par Level that is plus or minus 9 strokes from where you currently average.
A Penalty is any stroke assessed to your score by the rules of golf, such as Out of Bounds (2 stroke), unplayable (1 stroke), etc.
This refers to the number of holes where it took you 3 putts to get the ball in the hole. Putts from off the green do not count.
"Choose a par that is close to your current scoring average. This par will adjust the number of strokes allowed for a ""Green in Regulation"". For instance, if you choose a par of 90, you should increase the number of strokes for a GIR by one. On a par 4, your new GIR number is 3 strokes."
A 4-Putt can be entered in the Errors section of the Enter a Round Page.
This would now be considered an Eagle! If you have chosen the Par +1 level a Par 4 would now become a Par 5 and so on.
You can either leave it out of the Enter a Round section or you can enter it as 2 Birdies. This is up to your personal preference.
You can enter this as a 2 value in the 4-Putts box of the Errors Section.
On any hole where you have missed the Green in Regulation, you will need to to get the ball "up and in" for a par. This is considered a successful Scramble.

If your tee shot comes to rest on a fairway, this counts as a fairway in regulation (do not count par 3's). Fairways in regulation apply only to tee shots.
If the ball comes to rest on the green in two less than the par for that hole, that counts as GIR. For example, on a par 4, if your ball reaches the green in 2 shots or less.
The best way to think of your alternative Par Level is to add the strokes on to each hole. On a Par 4 begin to look at it as a Par 5, therefore a birdie is a score of 4.
This is simply the total number of putting strokes you make in a round.

Focused attention is the key to improvement. By giving the players the ability to focus on their unique areas of improvement, they will improve. Custom stats could include elements of the mental game, decisions, distance control ... or even the "# of lost balls" - if that is important and fun for you.
